The rudder and the fin went together as easily as the stab/elevator, with the added step of sheeting the fin with 1/64th ply. It took a bit of cut-and-try to get the rudder spar to "cove" into the fin spar, with the ply skin overhang, but it worked out really well.
I will cover the horizontal tail and the rudder with Polyspan (polyester matte), applied with Minwax Polycrylic. The fin will be covered with silkspan, applied damp, with Polycrylic. The tail feathers will eventually get primed and painted, along with the rest of the airframe.
Now on to the wing. Spars have been cut and spliced, and next, I will splice up the 3/32" wing skins, using 6" wide by 36" long balsa sheet stock.
